= AIX NIM Disaster Recovery

These are the required steps to use NIM in your disaster recovery procedure.

= Create Mksysb Image

* Check network and DNS requirements for your host / network

** Host needs A and PTR records
* Check storage NIM server
** The NIM server needs at least the amount of space of the rootvg of the host
* Create nim client

* Create the image

= Restore Mksysb Image

* Restore the image

= Test Restore Mksysb Image
These are the steps for a test, so you create an entire new client for testing purposes. In this case we restore to a LPAR in an IVM. Before starting, determine a host name and IP-address what can be used. 

* Create required boot lun

* Detect lun inside VIOS/IVM

* Create LPAR

* Create NIM Client
